Dedication of Children
It is our custom at our church to set apart children unto the Lord. Ships are christened by breaking bottles across the front of their hulls.
In the 19th chapter of Mathew’s Gospel, verse 13, 14 and 15, we are told “then people brought little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them. But his disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, “let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these”. When he had placed his hands on them he want on from there.
In keeping with these scriptures we dedicate or set apart children unto the Lord. We consider this an act of obedience to the Word of God. The parents or guardians and godparents are informed that the act of dedication is only as good as they themselves intend to live a lifestyle in line with God’s Word.
If you would like to dedicate your child/children please contact the church by email at info@licf.co.uk or telephone the church office on0198 394013 with your request and information.
